Atherstone Red Lion

A 16th-century coaching inn, the Atherstone Red Lion Hotel maintains its traditional role, hosting weary travellers as the make their way along the A5. Atherstone is a historic market town north of Birmingham, and the Red Lion Hotel forms an integral part of its community. Four function rooms are available on site, and there is a dedicated team trained to help organise corporate events, both large and small. Dining is available at the main bar and conservatory, providing a choice of traditional pub classics. The casual bar features large-screen televisions showing sport, but a formal table service is available in the conservatory. Rather uniquely, the hotel contains a library for those who prefer to sit in quiet solitude. Accommodation is spread across two buildings. In the Red Lion itself, cosy, traditionally-decorated guestrooms with en-suite bathrooms evoke a little piece of its history. Room types available there are standard double, twin, king and family rooms. In Cappellos, contemporary rooms and apartments are located in a restored building next to the hotel.
