The lakes are surrounded by beautiful forests and dune plantations, which are great places for a hike on the many trails in the area.
The hotel is also right on the edge of the National Park Thy, the first national park in Denmark, which covers more than 4000 acres of dune and moor-filled nature with a rich fauna.
Hanstholm is home to many experiences with a touch of history from World War ll, seeing as the area is covered with bunkers that were part of Northern Europe’s biggest fortification. Today there’s a museum about The Atlantic Wall in the bunkers in town.
