In the 17th century the hotel was situated on a major coaching road and the Wheatsheaf inn was an important postal receiving house, where travellers could hire horses and carriages. One of the Wheatsheaf’s most famous guests was Jane Austin who would regularly come to collect the family’s mail,The hotel has 28 contemporary en suite bedrooms comprising of Double, twin and family rooms. All bedrooms have flat screen digital TV’s, unlimited free WIFI, hairdryer with tea and coffee making facilities. Iron and ironing boards are available upon request.
