Vico Milano

A little piece of Milanese history, the site of the hotel was once a factory which designed and produced the legendary Legnano racing bikes, before becoming the studio and showroom for the Baccheschi Berti family’s fashion brand, Bungai in the 1990s. Construction to convert the property into a hotel began in 2019 and took around 2 and a half years.

Together with Sicilian architect, Giuseppe Alito, who has overseen the architecture and design, Neri has drawn on influences from his life to create a bespoke home away from home where no two corners are the same. Beginning with the stunning bathrooms, each took three weeks to complete as pairs of artisans placed each tile individually. Neri sourced the Zeleg tiles in Fez, Morocco, where he handpicked the colours that were custom made by artisans for this project. During his time in Morocco, Neri also commissioned the stunning carpets that can be found in each of the suites, as well as the lobby.

As an homage to Italian design, all the beds, tables and closets were handcrafted by our artisans in Tuscany and Sicily. The grand table in the library features a pink Siena marble base and was designed by Neri himself. Design enthusiasts will be excited to find vintage pieces from renowned Italian designers such as Lio Carminiati and Amma. When it comes to lighting, guests will see the works of Coordinates by FLOS and Moooi. The Indonesian tapestries in each of the suites were handpicked in Sumatra by Neris mother in the 70s. Together with handpicked antique Chinese pieces, green marble from Greece and carpets from Iran, guests will see a completely unique fusion of cultures, colours and materials.
