Set within a historic baronial mansion house beneath Arthur’s Seat, The Scott seamlessly blends period grandeur with modern allure. The ambience is intimate and refined, with original features dating to the 1750s, including ornate fireplaces, intricate oak panelling, stained-glass windows, original fresco ceiling art, and a tranquil garden setting. The Scott offers 37 individually designed bedrooms, each with a marble en‑suite bathroom, a king‑size bed, luxury Laura Thomas Co toiletries, an OPAL espresso machine, and bottled mineral water.
At the heart of the hotel is Bonnar’s Restaurant, a 30‑cover dining room set beneath an elegant 18th‑century fresco by Thomas Bonnar, where each dish celebrates locally sourced ingredients with contemporary flair.
The Scott also offers The Library, a private event space for up to 12 guests in a boardroom setup or for private dining, with day delegate and bespoke event packages available.
Outside, guests can relax in the Secret Garden—an urban oasis with easy access to Edinburgh’s key sights—ideal for leisure guests, couples, corporate travellers, residential meetings, and incentive groups.
Location: just over 1 mile from Edinburgh’s Old Town and many key attractions; approximately 14 miles (around 30 minutes by car) from Edinburgh Airport (EDI). Edinburgh Waverley station is 1.5 miles (10–15 minutes by taxi); Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is approx. 14 miles (30 minutes). A bus stop on the adjacent main road offers frequent services to the city centre. Hotel reception can arrange taxis.
