The Fountain Inn has a pleasant location overlooking Cowes harbour at the mouth of the River Medina. From the al fresco dining area, and from many of the bedrooms, guests can enjoy a views out over the sea, watching the ferries that connect the Isle of Wight with Southampton. This historic inn has plenty of stories to tell. In 1789, the third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, stayed at the hotel with his entourage after a state visit. The hotel is accessible, comfortable, and traditional, with warmly-decorated bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, and plenty of modern amenities. Flat screen televisions, hairdryers, tea and coffee-making facilities and ironing equipment come as standard. The restaurant serves tasty food, including midweek themed menus.
