Ednam House is a beautiful Georgian-era mansion providing a pleasant setting and comfortable rooms.
Ednam House was built in 1761 by James Dickson, a Kelso entrepreneur who commissioned the architect James Nisbet to construct a house worthy of his new-found social status. And in this, Ednam House has succeeded. With its pleasant riverside location and fine Georgian architecture, it is the grandest, most picturesque place to stay in Kelso. The hotel contains 32 bedrooms, each individually designed to fit the contours of the building; modern comforts abound, including a television, hospitality tray, and wireless internet throughout the hotel. Single, Double, Twin and Family Rooms are among the room types. Many of these rooms look out across the three acres of landscaped gardens on the banks of the River Tweed; naturally, this setting is perfect for weddings. In addition, Ednam House serves delicious food from its restaurant, and hosts bespoke business meetings in its various venues. James Dickson, whose portrait still hangs above the main fireplace, would have surely approved of the luxury his house now plays host to.
