The Castle and Ball offers traditional accommodation in a historic pub hotel in the heart of Marlborough.
The Cattle and Ball Hotel, located in the historic Wiltshire market town of Marlborough, is a 15th-century coaching with the unique distinction of sitting on the widest high street in Britain. Though an inn has stood on this site since the 15th century, the hotel itself dates from the 16th, around the time of the Spanish Armada. However, some of the original oak timbers pre date the current building. The Castle and Ball remains a firm local favourite, with a convenient location near the M4 motorway and ancient sites in Avebury and Silbury Hill, free parking, and free WiFi. Rooms are elegant and traditional with private bathrooms, tea and coffee-making facilities and televisions. Some features ornate, four-poster beds. The walled beer garden with outdoor seating makes for the perfect setting for a drink or meal during warmer months, while the bar and restaurant, with oak timbers and period features, offers a range of local ales, speciality coffees, and a seasonal British menu.
