More About Toravaig House Hotel
the Sound of Sleat and to Loch Hourn, Loch Nevis, Isle of Rhum or Sandaig Island - home of Gavin Maxwell author of Ring of Bright Water. Toravaig is a stylish, contemporary country house hotel situated in the 'Garden of Skye' with magnificent views over the sea to the mainland hills beyond. The owners, Anne and Ken recently completed a tip to toe renovation and their efforts have been recognised by Hotel Review Scotland, which awarded Scottish Island Hotel of the Year 2005. If the waters don't tempt you, the bedrooms surely will. The rooms are freshly presented with newly laundered, crisp white bedlinen on sleigh or brass beds, each room being individual and different with great attention to detail. The soft furnishings in the sitting room tempts guests from their rooms each night, as does the luxurious scent of cooking from the restaurant. Under the personal management of the enthusiastic owners, this hotel is gaining a fine reputation for it's cuisine. The freshest of highlands and islands produce features on the menus. Highlights include an ingenious fillet of salmon served with a herb crust, on brandied fennel with caramel sauce, as well as classic saddle of venison, pan fried on a bed of parsnip & potato puree with a port wine jus.
