More About Yorke Arms Bill took over The Yorke Arms, this creeper-covered old shooting lodge has featured regularly in any list of Britain's prominent restaurants. The Yorke Arms has evolved into an outstanding Michelin-starred restaurant with rooms, yet still retains the atmosphere and character of a country inn, from the comfortable bedrooms upstairs to the warm glow of log fires in the lounge and dining room. The nerve centre of the operation is Frances' kitchen; recently doubled in size and refurbished with the best equipment, it has enabled her to raise the standard of her elegant but uncomplicated culinary style. Her food is ably complemented by Bill's excellent wine list. Ramsgill is perfectly positioned for superb walks and exploring the beauties of the Dales. Further afield, favourite attractions include Fountains Abbey, the gardens at Newby Hall, and the spa town of Harrogate.
