More About Garrack Hotel
known in the Cornish language as Chy-an-Garrack - which translates into English as The House on the Rock - the Garrack was the home of Lady Ebury prior to becoming a hotel in 1947. Since then, the Kilby family has made many changes, including new bedrooms and a small leisure centre with a swimming pool, sauna and solarium. The hotel is a secluded, vine-covered granite building standing in two acres of gardens high above Porthmeor Beach with fabulous views of St Ives Bay and the coastal landscape beyond. Of the 18 bedrooms, some have four-poster beds; others have personal spa baths. The Garrack's restaurant is proud of its reputation for good culinary standards and for an extensive wine list. The hotel is dedicated to providing comfort in tranquil and beautiful surroundings, accompanied by good food, good service and good company - here, the customers' interests are paramount. As a base for visiting the many area attractions, including the renowned Tate St Ives and the Garrack have no equal.
