Magical hideaway amid the stunning Brecon Beacons
Tucked away in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Gliffaes Country House Hotel is the perfect place to experience the uniqueness of South Wales - its breathtaking scenery, outstanding local produce and a warm welcome. Surrounded...More About Gliffaes Country House Hotel by 33 acres of gardens, lawns and woodlands by the River Usk, it is the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The grandeur of the impressive Italianate mansion, with its own clock tower, transports the visitor into another era while inside, the hotel's elegance and gentle warmth makes one feel right at home. Its 23 bedrooms are all individually decorated and furnished, retaining an air of understated luxury. The dining at the Gliffaes is all about the fresh sustainable local produce - something the hotel is passionate about. Situated as it is in a national park with little farmland, the Gliffaes kitchen has access to some especially good lamb and beef, even for the already high Welsh standards, while in winter the menu includes the best of local game and traditional root vegetables. Two-thirds of the produce is sourced from within 50 miles of the hotel and fish comes only from sustainable fisheries. Gliffaes makes a more than ideal base for exploring the magic of the Brecon Beacons National Park, as well as the beautiful market towns, villages and castles of this corner of Wales - full of history, sheer natural beauty and the matchless character of its people.
