More About Fayrer Garden House Hotel Windermere and the surrounding countryside, the Terrace Restaurant - awarded two rosettes by the AA - has a well established reputation for fine food. The skilled kitchen team, lead by Chef Edward Wilkinson, produce daily changing menus to reflect both the season and the best ingredients the region has to offer. Stylish lounges offer views across the terrace and the Lake beyond where morning coffee or afternoon tea can be enjoyed. The cosy bar invites you to sit and relax with an aperitif or indeed a night-cap allowing you to sample one of the many single malts or local bottled real ales. All of the bedrooms have views - either over Lake Windermere or of the attractive gardens and no two are the same. Ground floor rooms have patio doors to allow direct access onto the terrace whilst all the lake view rooms enjoy the added luxury of a whirlpool bath. A local leisure club is available for guests to use with swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi and Windermere Golf Club is only a mile up the road. The nearby village of Bowness with all its shops, attractions and boats, is only a brisk 15 minute walk.
