Supreme comfort in this castle on an historic estate

In the 16th century, the Dromoland Estate became the seat of the O'Brien clan, descendants of 'Brian Boru', High King of Ireland. Today the castle is one of Europe's top luxury hotels, blending period pieces with modern comfort.... More About Dromoland Castle Its gallery has one of Ireland's largest collections of portraits, most notably Lucius O'Brien painted by the Swedish artist Michael Dahl. The 17th Baron Inchiquin gave musical recitals in the drawing room where guests now take tea or coffee, and his study has become the Library Bar. The 410-acre estate is supremely beautiful, with many private facilities for guests. Fine trout await in the lake, and the Castle has its own 18-hole Championship golf course and clubhouse with brassiere restaurant and health and beauty spa. Fishing, shooting, horse riding, jogging trails and tennis are also all on the estate. The splendid dining room gives panoramic views of the lake and golf course. David McCann, head chef of international repute, presents house specialities including lamb with foie gras and steamed fillets of turbot in fennel. There is an outstanding list of wines from the cellar, which guests are welcome to visit. In short, your home will be your castle when you make Dromoland Castle your home.
