There is no doubt that the Cottage occupies a magical position, but it also is notable as a delightful family-run hotel and restaurant spread over a trio of attractive buildings. The Pattin family, headed up by John and Sue, are involved in every aspect of the hotel, creating a genuinely relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. A fine Georgian dower house is the heart of the hotel, containing the restaurant and a handful of bedrooms, while Beech Cottage offers homely accommodation and The Pinnacles contains sumptuous bedrooms traditionally styled with antique furnishings and commanding the finest views of all. Good food is assured in the more contemporary dining room, and John has collected a superb wine list featuring more than 600 bottles and halves at astonishingly affordable prices. Guests can enjoy bargain breaks year-round and discounted rates at the nearby Worcestershire Golf Course. Walks in the Malverns begin at the front door of the hotel, and sightseeing opportunities include three cathedral cities, Stratford-upon-Avon and the musical intrigue along the Elgar Trail.
