At Jerpoint Glass there are eight glassmakers who work in teams of two, making and finishing glass completely by hand. They use their own creative judgement to determine the correct shape of the finished piece. It takes five years for a glassmaker to acquire the necessary skills to produce a glass of the type made at Jerpoint. A visitor to the studio once commented that Jerpoint Glass will become a valuable antique in the future
